Prins Alternative Fuel Systems Gains World’s First R115 Certification
Prins Alternative Fuel Systems has obtained the world’s first R115 certification for its Direct LiquiMax lpg autogas conversion system. The R115 guideline sets out stringent requirements for vehicle exhaust gas missions, documentation and quality standards.
Prins obtained R115 certification for its Direct Liquimax lpg autogas systems for Hyundai and Kia vehicles, and intends to certify more systems for General Motors, Volvo, Ford, Volkswagen, Audi, Seat and Skoda.
Bart van Aerle, managing director at Prins Alternative Fuel Systems, said: “We are very pleased that our new Direct LiquiMax system is certified for the R115 standard set by the European Union and is approved by RDW Netherlands. It gives us further confidence that our company is innovative and leading in technology.
“With the latest engine developments for petrol cars using direct fuel injection, new innovations are needed to benefit from the lower fuel cost of lpg autogas and the reduction in emissions. The Direct LiquiMax system complies with the current Euro-5 emission standard, and even with the future Euro-6. Prins has developed the Direct LiquiMax for drivers to get those benefits without losing drivability and performance, enabling them to start directly on lpg autogas.”
